Code of Ethics
In my business I comply with and adhere to the HSE Management standards, Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive therapies.
Confidentiality and access to case notes
The trust between a client and Therapist is crucial for the success of the therapeutic process. I treat all information disclosed as CONFIDENTIAL. I do not disclose details or information to any third party. However, if in my opinion, a client is in danger of self harm or harm to others I reserve the right to inform the appropriate agencies.
In addition CONFIDENTIALITY can only be offered within accepted legal boundaries. I keep brief notes on our work together to assist in developing therapeutic sessions tailored to individual needs and these can be viewed at any time should the client wish to do so.
I offer prospective clients an assessment interview. This gives us both an opportunity of considering whether we wish to work together. It is just as important that the client feels comfortable with me, your therapist, as I would with you. If we decide to work together, we will arrange to meet for a number of agreed sessions.
There is no obligation to attend all the sessions and you are free to terminate your therapy at any time. At the end of the agreed number of sessions a review will take place for us to jointly assess progress or any further action to take place.
Should we agree not to work together at the assessment interview, I will try and provide you with details of alternative therapists or support agencies.
Individual assessment and treatment sessions last for 50 minutes. Clients funding their own treatment is £75.00 for daytime and £85.00 for evening sessions (after 18h00). Sessions funded by an insurance company vary and are available on request.
If you wish to cancel an appointment, I require a minimum of 48 hours notice. Cancellations given within 24 – 48 hours notice will incur a charge of 50% of the cost. Missed or late cancellations less than 24 hours notice will be liable for the full session fee.
Payments can be made by Paypal, card, cheque or cash. Organisations are invoiced monthly or at the end of the month or at the agreed number of sessions. Non-payment of fees may result in legal action being taken.
Fees for workshops onsite or offsite are subject to the agreed T&C for those specific events.
